Eye Examination Centres
Help keep your eyes healthy. Don't let eye problems take your vision away. You need to keep your eyes healthy, especially if you wear contact lenses. Conditions which are detected ealier have a much better chance of resolving with little damage. Eye care experts recommend that everyone have a complete eye exam every one to three years, depending on age, risk factors, and physical condition.
The Association of Optometrists in the UK (AOP), strongly believes that children who wear contact lenses need to be seen annually to keep their prescriptions current.
If you don't normally need vision correction, you still need an eye exam every two to three years up to the age of 40, depending on your rate of visual change and overall health. Doctors often recommend more frequent examinations for adults with diabetes, high blood pressure and other disorders, because many diseases can have an impact on the health of your eyes.
Some of the ways the AOP is serving its members is by:
- promoting and protecting them
- providing them with relevant services
- representing and supporting them
- enhancing their professional and business effectiveness
- expanding the role of optometry in primary and secondary eyecare
You may call the AOP for further questions regarding eye care, and they may even suggest a local eye clinic near your place for you to visit.
